Timothy G. Murphy - Chief Executive Officer
Timothy is a veteran of the savings industry. Tim began his career in 1987 at Sovereign Investment Brokers, Cork as a promoter of payroll (Salary-deduction) long-term savings schemes. After going to University in UCC, Timothy joined Irish Life & Permanent, Dublin, in 1994, working again in savings, this time against a difficult savings climate. Tim lobbied for the introduction of the first-ever guaranteed savings plan which was introduced in 1996.

Throughout the 90’s Tim observed the effect of a low interest environment and its direct impact on financial services and the customer experience. Tim drove the Savings products at his disposal to remedy this situation and this work led onto the origins of SAIV. In 2000, Timothy joined Citicorp, Dublin, where he worked with the Diner’s Club franchise in the merchant authorization and terminal initialization area, and in this role he got to observe first hand the operation of a Global Card scheme. Since 2001, he has been the primary promoter of SAIV.

Timothy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from University College Cork. Bringing this experience to bear on the proposed SAIV card business concept Tim has gathered together a team of specialists in business development and moving the company from an initial conceptual position to a formalized start, and funding position.
